Schoolgirl raped in Dhaka, university student held

A private university student has been arrested over charges of raping a schoolgirl in Dhaka’s Mirpur.

Alleged rapist Nasim, 25, lured the girl to a hotel last Wednesday and violated her, said Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge GG Bishwas.

Nasim was held on Thursday night following a case filed by the victim’s mother in this regard, the OC said. He was sent to jail by a magistrate after he was produced before a court today.

The victim was admitted to the One-Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
