Top terror Zeesan’s aide held in Dhaka

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) claimed to have arrested Mazharul Islam alias Shakil, a close aide of top-listed criminal Zeesan Ahmed, from Dhaka's Mohammadpur area last night.

Acting on tip, a Rab team launched a drive in Mohammadpur area last night and arrested Mazharul, as told to The Daily Star by Sujoy Sarker, the assistant director of Rab's Legal and Media Wing.

The Rab members also recovered a foreign made pistol and bullets from Mazharul's possession, added the official.

Details about the drive will be given out at Rab's media centre this afternoon.
