1 dead in Jessore ‘Jubo League infighting’

A local Jubo League supporter was killed and three others injured last night in what police said was an internal clash in Jessore Sadar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Manik, 35, our local correspondent reports quoting Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station.

About a dozen Jubo League men attacked Manik and his friends in Chuadanga bus stand about 10:45pm last night, the OC said. “The attack was motivated from a minor internal clash.”

Manik was declared dead when rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital. Injured Jahangir, Lipon and Rayhan were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Five people were detained in this connection. No case was filed.
