2 BCL men stabbed in Sylhet factional clash
Two BCL activists were stabbed in a factional clash over establishing supremacy in Madan Mohan College area in Sylhet city this afternoon.
The injured Satyajit Das, 28, and Rakin Ahmed, 22, are students of the college. Both of them are BCL activists of the Sylhet district unit.
They were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
Md Sohel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, told The Daily Star that additional policemen were deployed in the area to avert any further clash.
The clash is a sequel to the long-drawn internal feud between the two groups, said sources.
Supporters of the groups got into the clash following a debate over a trifle matter in front of the college around 2:00pm.
Police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Shahriar Alam Samad, BCL president of Sylhet district unit, described it as an internal clash.
Benu Chandra Das, SI of Kotwali Police Station, said two activists from both sides were stabbed in the incident.
