2 Myanmar Army men rescued in Bandarban: BGB
Bangladesh army and border guards yesterday rescued two members of Myanmar Army on Bandarban border.
They were rescued from the jungle during a special drive, Khondokar Farid Hasan, deputy director of Border Guard Bangladesh, said at press conference at BGB headquarters in Dhaka this afternoon.
The BGB in association with Bangladesh Army and different intelligence agencies conducted the drive in Bandarban during July 5-14.
“One of them was given medical treatment and both of them are now fine,” he added.
“It was later known that some criminals abducted the duo and abandoned them in the jungle sensing presence of the joint operation team.”
The Myanmar Border Guard Police and other authorities concerned were informed about the incident, and were requested to take back the duo as soon as possible, he said.
