2 remanded over Japanese citizen murder
A Rangpur court today placed Rashed-un-Nabi Khan Biplob, a local BNP activist, and Humayun Kabir Hira on a 10-day remand in Japanese national Hoshi Kunio murder case.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Abu Taleb passed the order after police produced them before the court with 10-day remand prayer.
Police have found their involvement in the murder, Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kaunia Police Station, told the court while seeking their remand.
Biplob was member of BNP city committee, while Hira, a friend of Kunio, owns a fishery near the grass field that Kunio owned.
Hoshi was gunned down in northern district of Rangpur on October 3, five days after the killing of an Italian citizen in Dhaka's diplomatic zone.
Law enforcers detained six people including the duo for “questioning” soon after the murder.
