2 youths killed in Gazipur

Two young men were hacked to death by miscreants in Tongi area in Gazipur on Sunday morning.

The deceased were identified as Sharif Hossain,30, president of 49 no ward of National Shishu Kishore Parishad, and his friend Jumman, 32-both residents of 4 no block in Ershad Nagar of Tongi.

Quoting family members, Shahin, sub-inspector of Tongi Police Station, said Sharif and Zumman were called out of their houses by some people around 12:30am.

Later they went missing.

Later locals spotted their bodies lying Molla Bari area adjacent to a house of local Mannan Molla around 8:30am and informed police.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.

They might have been killed over previous enmity, added the SI.

The SI also said there were injury marks of sharp weapon on the bodies.
