Rivals kill 3 brothers in Noakhali
Three siblings were chopped to death allegedly by their rivals over previous enmity in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali today.
Md Kamal, 36, Md Harun, 32, and Md Babul, 27, are the sons of Maksud Ullah at Kazibari of Kazianagar village in Nateshwar union, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Kazi Haniful Islam Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonaimuri Police Station.
The victims, along with several other locals including Saddam, Anowar, Azim, Tawhid, Razu, Sharif, Rafique and Golam Maowla, were watching a football match in the yard of Kazibari, the OC said quoting locals.
At one stage, they involved in a clash with their opponent group, led by Golam Maowla, where the deceased were beaten mercilessly and chopped around 2:00pm. Kamal, Haroon and Babul and they died on the spot, the police official said.
Law enforcers recovered the bodies and sent them to Noakhali Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
The OC said, the two groups had rivalries centering a land dispute.
Nurul Amin Swapan, chairman of Nateshwar Union parishad alleged that the victims were involved in drug-peddling, snatching and other criminal activities in the locality. They were accused with several cases in Sonaimuri Police Station.
