7 rescued, 3 traffickers held in Dhaka
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) detained three suspected human traffickers and rescued seven victims from a hotel in Dhaka this evening.
The detainees were active members of a human trafficking syndicate, said Arafat, operation officer of Rab-3, told The Daily Star.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force launched a drive at a hotel in Fakirapool area around 8:30pm and picked up the alleged traffickers.
The seven fortune seekers were supposed to go to Malaysia and Iraq, the Rab official said.
Arafat said the syndicate has long been engaged in trafficking people to Malaysia and Iraq.
