3 killed in Banani road crash

Three people died and three others were injured after a truck and a pickup van collided head-on in Banani area of Dhaka early today.

The deceased were identified as Arif, the truck driver, its helper Shamim and driver of the pickup van Mizanur Rahman, Banani police said.

A Dhaka-bound sand-laden truck collided with the airport-bound chicken-laden pickup van near Army Stadium around 5:30am, Ataur Rahman, sub-inspector of Banani Police Station told The Daily Star.

“Six people were injured. Three of the victims succumbed to their injures after being rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital,” he added. The injured people were undergoing treatments at the DMCH.
