3 killed in Narsingdi textile mill blast

Three people including a Pakistani national were killed in an explosion at a textile factory at Shilmandi union of Narsingdi Sadar today.

Two of the victims have been identified as Ashikur Rahman, 40, a Pakistani national and production manager of Mom Textile Mill, and Ramjan Mia, 40, designer of the company.

Identity of the other victim aged around 40 could not be known immediately, our Narsingdi correspondent reports.

The three died on the spot.

Twelve others were injured in the blast that took place at the textile mill this morning, the factory’s assistant manager Azizul Hakim said.

Narsingdi Police Super Amena Begum and Dhaka range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police SM Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman visited the spot after the incident, he added.
