3 ‘robbers’ beaten dead in Ctg

Three alleged robbers were beaten to death and five injured by a mob in Chittagong city early today.

Two of the deceased were identified as Md Sagar and Md Rasel, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting Sadip Das, officer-in-charge of Akbar Shah Police Station. 

According to the OC, locals, who has been guarding the village as there were frequent incidents of robbery in the locality, noticed a group of people roaming suspiciously in Uttar Kattoli area around 3:00am.

The villagers chased them off and caught eight of them while the others managed to flee.

Later, the mob gave them a good thrashing, leaving three of them dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the three bodies and sent those to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The injured “robbers” were taken to the police station.
