305 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims return home
A total of 305 Bangladeshi pilgrims today returned from Saudi Arabia after performing the holy Hajj.
An aircraft of Saudi Airlines carrying 305 pilgrims landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 4:50pm, Mobassher Hossain, an assistant police super of Airport Armed Police Battalion, confirmed The Daily Star.
“It was not a Hajj flight. The pilgrims returned by a regular flight of Saudi Airlines,” he added.
However, the first Hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines will arrive in Dhaka at 9:30am tomorrow, Khan Mosharraf Hossain, general manager (public relations) of Biman, told The Daily Star.
However, the flight may be delayed, he added.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia deployed large number of security reinforcements as pilgrims performed the rituals of Hajj marred by double tragedy, with the stampede death toll rising to 769.
