4 fall victim in 3 doping incidents in Dhaka
Four people fell victims to doping gangs, commonly known as “Ogyan Party”, in three separate areas of Dhaka today.
The incidents took place in Gulistan, Kakrail and Mohakhali area of the capital within several hours this afternoon.
The victims --Shah Alam, 35, his brother-in-law Fazlu Mia, 40, Suman, 30, and Shahidul Haque, 55, -- were brought to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in unconscious state, the hospital sources said.
Among the victims, Shah Alam and Fazlu, hailing from Munshiganj, were found in unconscious state inside a local bus ‘Supravat Paribahan’ in Gulistan area, Mofijul Islam, a relative of duo said.
The duo, who deal in wood processing business in Munshiganj, were travelling in the bus with Tk 4 lakh when they fell prey to the gang, said Mofijul, who took them to the hospital.
Another victim Suman, who works at a private firm in Sena Kalyan Bhaban, was rescued from Kakrail area in unconscious state. Anwar Hossain, who took Suman to DMCH, claimed his colleague was robbed off money. He however could not specify the amount of money stolen from Suman.
Meanwhile, Shahidul Haque, who works at a workshop named ‘Dhaka Metal Processing’ was found in Amtali area of Mohakhali, said the factory owner’s son Shyamol.
He was mugged off Tk 3 lakh, Shyamol said adding that Shahidul withdrew the money from a privately-run bank and was supposed to return the cash to the workplace.
