4 killed in Bogra road crashes
A total of four people were killed and two others were critically injured today in two separate road accidents in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra district.
A truck and a CNG-run three-wheeler collided head-on around 7:00am in Shakalpa area of the upazila on the Bogura-Natore highway, leaving two persons dead, says Md Abul Kalam Azam, sub-inspector of Shahjahanpur Police Station, told our local correspondent quoting police.
One of the two deceased died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
The deceased were identified as passengers of the three-wheeler Md Ramzan Ali, 65, son of late Salamot Ali of Shashibadoni village in Bogra Sadar upazila, and Sree Gonesh Chandra, 45, of Choto Chougram village in Singra upazila.
In another accident, a local bus ran over three people when two motorbikes collided head-on and the riders fell on the ground around 4:15pm in the afternoon, leaving two dead on the spot, SI Azam said.
The deceased were identified as Asiya Begum, 40, wife of Babul Pramanik of Bhalsun village in Kahaloo upazila, and Md Saidur Rahman, 38, an engineer of Shujabad Tamim Care Feed office.
Asiya’s husband Babul sustained injuries in the accident and is now undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
