5 warehouses gutted in Ashulia fire

Four jhut (apparel waste) warehouses were gutted in a fire in Vhadail area of Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka in the wee hours of today.

The fire originated from one Motin warehouse around midnight, Abdul Hamid, senior station officer of DEPZ fire service, said quoting locals.

On information, three units of fire fighters rushed to the scene. Later seven units of fire fighters from Savar, Dhamrai and Gazipur joined in and controlled the blaze after two hours of efforts.

Primarily, cause of the fire could not be known and losses could not be estimated, he added.
