BGB BSF DG level conference

Killing or injuring and firing on innocent Bangladeshi citizens on the border with India will dominate the six-day director general level conference between BGB and BSF scheduled to begin at New Delhi on December 25.

The conference will be held at Chhawla Complex of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) near Chhattarpur on the outskirts of the Indian capital. It will end on December 30, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today said in a press release.

BGB Director General Major General Md Shafeenul Islam will lead the 11-member delegation of BGB while 19-member BSF delegation headed by its director general Shri Vivek Johri will take part in the conference.

During the six-day conference, smuggling of yaba, phensidyl, wine, hemp, heroin, Viagra, firearms and ammunition into Bangladesh from India, illegal trespassing of border, border management and Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) will be discussed in the summit.

BGB Director General is likely to meet with India's Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah during the programme.

The conference will end formally through signing a "joint record of discussions" by two sides on December 29.

After ending the conference, the BGB team will leave India for Dhaka on December 30, added the release.
