7% growth impossible without pvt investments: Raushan
Leader of the Opposition in parliament Raushan Ershad today said it is not possible to achieve the target of the economic growth at 7 percent without increasing private sector investments in the country.
"The proposed budget has both good as well as bad aspects. People have been frustrated by its bad side. If the private sector investments are not increased, the GDP will grow at a rate of around 6 percent,” she said at a press conference at the Media Centre of Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka.
Also a senior presidium member of Jatiya Party, Raushan came up with the reaction five days after Finance Minister AMA Muhith had placed Tk 2.95 lakh crore budget for fiscal 2015-16 at the parliament.
She said setting a growth target is not the final task, the government should monitor whether people get the befit of the growth.
Raushan stressed the need for political stability to achieve the target of the budget.
The opposition leader urged the government to create employments in the country to stop human trafficking.
