Advance Eid bus ticket from July 26

Private bus operators will start selling of advance tickets for the home-goers ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha from July 26.

The decision has been taken at a meeting of Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association, Romesh Chandra Ghosh, chairman of the association, told The Daily Star this evening.

Tickets would be sold out from 6:00am on the day at the rate fixed by the government, he said.

Ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Railway will begin selling of advance train tickets from July 29, to smother the journey of the holidaymakers.

Every year, tens of thousands of people leave the capital Dhaka to celebrate the Eid with near and dear ones at their village homes.

But their journey often turns bitter largely due to traffic jam, overcharging of tickets’ price and delays in bus and train schedules.
