Eid advance bus ticket from May 17
Private bus operators will start selling advance tickets from May 17 for home-goers ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association today, Romesh Chandra Ghosh, chairman of the association, told The Daily Star today.
“Tickets would be sold out from the morning on the day at the rate fixed by the government and there is no scope of charging extra money for the ticket on the occasion of the Eid,” he said.
Ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Railway will begin selling of advance train tickets from May 22, to smother the journey of the holidaymakers.
Every year, tens of thousands of people leave the capital Dhaka to celebrate the Eid with near and dear ones at their village homes.
But their journey often turns bitter largely due to traffic jam, overcharging of tickets’ price and delays in bus and train schedule.
