About 3,000 tourists are stranded on St Martin’s Island in Cox’s Bazar due to bad weather.

Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports, inclement weather halted all naval movement in the Teknaf-St Martin's route including the ship transportation to the island.

Those who were supposed to travel to St Martin's Island today were seen returning to Cox’s Bazar.

Cox’s Bazar Meteorological Department’s Meteorologist Shahidul Islam said the forecast is heavy rain or thundershowers with gusty winds in the coastal region.

Authorities have already asked to hoist local cautionary number 3 at Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Payra and Mongla ports.
