JCD leader killed in Sylhet infighting
A leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was killed in a factional clash centring founding anniversary programme of the student front of BNP in Sylhet city this afternoon.
Deceased Abul Hasnat Shimu, 25, a resident of Shahi Eidgah area, was former assistant organising secretary of Sylhet city unit of JCD, said Wahab Miah, deputy commissioner (media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police.
The clash ensued between the two factions of JCD – one led by Kazi Meraz and another by Nabil Ahmed – as both the groups arranged programmes at same venue in Court Point area around 3:00 pm to mark JCD’s 39th founding anniversary, the police official said.
