Two people stabbed each other over a trivial matter and later on succumbed to their wounds at a local hospital in Kushtia today.

Shamim Akhter, 30, resident in Majupur area, and Shohan Hossain, 25, Class XI student of Kushtia Police Line School and College, of the town, our local correspondent reports quoting police.

The duo locked into an altercation centering setting fire to firewood which Shohan, one of the deceased, brought from the other’s house without his permission, Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kushtia Sadar Model Police Station, told the correspondent.

At one stage, Shamim stabbed Shohan with a sharp weapon on his chest and, later Shohan stabbed his attacker with the same weapon, the police official said.

The two, injured critically, were taken to Kushtia General Hospital where doctors declared them dead in between 15 minutes, added the OC.
