Blogger Tareq not out of danger yet

Blogger Tareq Rahim, who was shot and hacked at Shuddhoswar Prokashani office in Lalmatia on Saturday, is still not out of danger while the conditions of Shuddhoswar's Ahmedur Rashid Tutul and another Ranadipam have slightly improved.

Tareq’s condition did not improve till this afternoon as the bullet that pierced his chest is yet to be removed, Somoy TV reports quoting DMCH doctors and their relatives.

Doctors were waiting for his condition to improve for conducting a surgery to remove the bullet.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) formed a nine-member medical board yesterday for their treatment.

Meanwhile, security has been strengthened at the hospital after family members have called for adequate security for the injured.

The three were critically injured by machete-wielding assailants at Dhaka’s Lalmatia area on the same day when Faisal Arefin Dipan, owner of Jagriti Prokashani, was hacked to death by suspected militants at his office in Aziz Market in the capital.
