Bodies of 2 sisters found in Moulvibazar
Police recovered the bodies of two sisters from a pond at Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar early today.
The dead are Arija Begum, 19, and Sakhina Begum, 18, daughters of Akbar Ali of Adampur union in the upazila, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
Locals said the duo worked as housemaids at one Joynal Miah’s house at Bhabanipur village from where they went missing yesterday afternoon.
Later, family members of Joynal found the floating bodies of the two sisters in the pond adjacent to the house.
On information, police rushed in and sent the bodies to Moulvibazar General Hospital for autopsy, said Abdul Ahad, an assistant sub-inspector of Kulaura Police Station.
Police suspect that Arija and Sakhina drowned in the pond.
