Bridge sinks, Sylhet’s rail link with Dhaka, Ctg snapped
Rail communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong remain suspended since this morning as a railway bridge in Moulvibazar went under water due to overnight rain.
The railway bridge in Srimongol upazila of Moulvibazar was submerged around 5:00am and since then the train services of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong are suspended, reports our Moulbvibazar correspondent.
Three trains -- Kauni Express, Joyontika express and Demu train – from Sylhet to Dhaka got stranded at Komolganj Railway Station, local stationmaster Kabir Ahmed said.
Besides, several intercity trains and a cargo train bound for Sylhet from Dhaka are also waiting at Shayestaganj Railway Station in Habiganj, the stationmaster said.
