Bureaucrat’s daughter found dead in Dhaka
The daughter of a joint secretary was found dead at their government quarter in Eskaton Garden area of Dhaka early today.
On information, police recovered the body of Promithi Rahman, 25, a Chittagong University student, at Eskaton Garden Government Officers’ Quarter around 12:30am.
Promithi was the daughter of Mahbubur Rahman and Alam Ara Begum, a joint secretary for the primary and mass education ministry, Mushiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, told The Daily Star.
She might have taken her own life by taking poison, the police official said.
Returning from Thailand, Alam Ara Begum found the body of her daughter lying on the floor, the OC said.
After the separation of her parents, Promithi used to live with her mother on the second floor of the government quarters, he added.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
