Bus’ gas cylinder blasts on highway, 8 burnt

At least eight people including a child were burnt after the gas cylinder of a passenger bus exploded on the Dhaka-Aricha highway this morning.

The Paturia-bound bus of MMB Paribahan was on its way from Dhaka when the incident took place around 11:15am, our local correspondent reports quoting Zakir Hossain, additional superintendent (SP) of Manikganj police.

The burn victims were rushed to the Manikganj Sadar Hospital, the SP said adding that two of the patients are in critical condition. Traffic was halted on the highway for about an hour.
