Case over sexual assault on women at DU

Police have sued unknown miscreants over allegations of sexual assault against women in Dhaka University during Pahela Baishakh celebrations.

Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam Azad filed the lawsuit against unknown number of miscreants last night.

About 20 women were sexually harassed that evening by a gang for over an hour during the festivities of Baishakh celebrations near TSC.

Allegations were that the incident happened under the nose of police posted nearby.

SI Azad told The Daily Star that none of the victims showed up at Shahbagh Police Station which eventually led to the lawsuit being filed late last night.
