Chandina arson victim dies
A man burnt in arson attack on a bus during Shab-e-Barat night in Comilla’s Chandina died today while undergoing treatments at a Dhaka hospital.
The victim Ranjit Sharma, 57, was suffering from 44 percent burn injuries, Partha Shankar Paul, resident surgeon of Dhaka Medical College Hospital told The Daily Star.
“He died at the DMCH around 3:00am.”
On June 3, unidentified assailants hurled petrol-bombs on a passenger bus on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. Seven people were burnt, three among who were moved to DMCH including Ranbir.
Meanwhile, another woman, a victim of a gas line explosion in Kalabagan of Dhaka on May 30, also died while undergoing treatments at the hospital.
The victim, Rosy Begum, 34, who was admitted with severe burn injuries, died around 12:40am, said Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
Earlier, another Mamtaj Begum, 65, also died from this incident.
