Cheating in SSC exam: headmaster, 9 examinees attacked for refusing to cooperate
A headmaster of a school in Brahmanbaria’s Kasba upazila along with nine SSC examinees were beaten up today by unidentified youths for allegedly not cooperating with the culprits in cheating at an examination centre.
The incident took place at Gopinathpur Shaheed Babul High School examination centre this noon, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.
Ali Mansur, headmaster of Syedabad AS Monirul Haque High School, told this correspondent that an unidentified youth at the exam centre premises asked one examinee to supply copies to some others during the English second paper exam today. As the examinee refused to supply copies, the youth beat him up.
The head teacher then took the victim to the exam centre secretary and informed him of the matter, he said.
Later, when the headmaster along with other examinees were returning home from the centre, they were attacked by some unidentified youths and examinees from Gopinathpur Shaheed Babul High School. Ali Mansur and nine examinees of his school were injured.
On information, police rescued the injured and admitted them to Kasba Upazila Health Complex. Two injured female students -- Sonia Akter and Sabikunnahar Tonni -- were later referred to Dhaka for better treatment after their condition deteriorated, Ali Mansur told The Daily Star.
Confirming the incident, Kasba Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Masudul Alam said steps are being taken against the culprits in this connection.
