6 traders fined for selling date-expired meat
Six traders were fined Tk 40,000 for selling date-expired meat in Brahmanbaria.
The meat was smeared with blood for having a fresh look. Moreover, the traders were selling buffalo meat in the name of beef (cow meat) and could not show any price list.
A mobile court led by Executive Magistrate AKM Shariful Haque, also the assistant commissioner (land) in Brahmanbaria, came up with the order following a drive at Sarak Bazar in Akhaura municipality yesterday afternoon, reports our local correspondent.
Disguised as a buyer, the executive magistrate visited different shops at the market and seized six and a half kilogrammes of blood kept in refrigerators by the meat traders.
