DU VC for check-posts to keep campus off-limits to outsiders
Authorities will soon place security check-post at every entrance point of the Dhaka University to restrict outsiders from entering in the campus in a bid to avoid tension on the university premises.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman, vice-chancellor of the university, today came up with the remark while talking to reporters at his DU office today, reports our DU correspondent.
The decision was taken following the recent agitations on the DU campus caused in the name of quota-reform movement, he said, adding that a spontaneous movement like this is being spoiled due to the presence of some evil forces.
The movement was joined by thousands of students and it had our moral support, the VC said.
However, with time, due to the entry of some outsiders, this peaceful movement got spoiled, he said.
“Soon we will place security check-post at every entrance point so that no outsider can stay, wander or hold any activity inside the university campus without permission of concerned authorities or proctor,” VC Akhtaruzzaman added.
When asked about students boycotting exams and classes over quota reform protests, he said halting exams and creating obstruction during classes can never be considered as a gracious act.
