EC cancels polls schedule for 12 UPs

The Election Commission today cancelled the polls schedule for 12 union parishads in the second-phase of the election scheduled to be held on March 31.

EC cancelled the schedules on different grounds, including complexities related to demarcation and voter list, the commission said in a statement signed by Mohammad Ashfaqur Rahman, assistant secretary of the EC.

The 12 UPs are: Ghaghra of Kotalipara in Gopalganj, Bachore, Hossaingaon and Nanduar of Ranisankail in Thakurgaon, Begumpur, Shankarchandra and Titudah of Chuadanga Sadar, Khokshabari and Tupamari of Nilphamari Sadar, Aminabad and Nurabad of Char Fashion in Bhola and Kuchiamora of Magura Sadar.

Earlier on February 19, the EC announced the election schedule for 684 UPs in the second phase.
