Bogura crash: Injured Singer Khurshid Alam flown to Dhaka
Eminent singer Khurshid Alam has been flown to Dhaka after he was injured when a truck hit his private car on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Bogura town early today.
The Ekushey Padak winner, Khurshid Alam, was admitted to Green Life Medical College and Hospital around 2:30 pm, his brother Sarowar Islam Mamun told our Bogura correspondent.
Alam was undergoing treatment at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital before being flown to Dhaka by air ambulance.
The accident took place around 3:00am at Charmatha on the highway when a truck hit his private car, said SM Bodiuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Police Station.
Khurshid Alam went to Bogura on Thursday to join an award-giving ceremony of Prothom Alo Bondhushava. The incident occurred when he was returning to his hotel after taking a tour to the city.
The truck driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
“Khurshid Alam is much better now, there is no internal bleeding in his head”, Sushanto Kumar, head of Neuro-surgery department at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, told the correspondent.
He lost three of his teeth in the accident, Rokonuzzaman, a dental surgeon of the hospital, added.
