Families want their ‘missing’ dear ones back
Families of victims of enforced disappearances, who were mostly opposition BNP activists, today urged the prime minister to get back their dear ones at a demonstration staged in Dhaka.
They formed the human chain near Jatiya Press Club urging the prime minister to take initiative in this regard. They stood for an hour starting from 10:30am.
Marufa Islam, sister of a victim Sajedul Islam Sumon, who was general secretary of Dhaka North City Corporation's Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP, said: "We want our beloved persons back. We don't know whether he is alive or dead."
"How much longer do we have to wait?," Nurunnahar, sister of another victim of enforced disappearances, asked at the programme.
Activists of different rights organisations were present during the programme.
