Fire at Rajshahi community centre
A fire broke out at a community centre at Shaheb bazaar in Rajshahi city this morning.
Farhad Hossain, senior officer of Rajshashi Fire Service Station, told our staff correspondent that the fire broke out at the basement of the three-storey Moonlight Garden around 9am and soon engulfed the entire floor.
On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.
Eleven air conditioners, 40 fans and a number of furniture were damaged in the fire, said Abdul Gaffar, owner of the community centre.
The fire may be originated from an electric short circuit, said Farhad Hossain. “We’ll be able to confirm the reason behind the fire after investigation.”
