Ganajagaran Mancha activist’s body recovered in Sylhet

Police recovered body of an activist of Ganajagaran Mancha at a residential area of Sylhet city last night.

The deceased Shahriar Majumdar, was a student of architect department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and was also an activist of Ganajagaran Mancha, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

Majumdar used to live at the 4th floor of a house located in Surma residential area in the city.

Roommates of the deceased told our correspondent that they informed cops when they found their room locked last evening. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body hanging from a window grill by breaking the door around 9:00pm.

Suhel Ahmed officer-in-charge of Sylhet Kotwali Police Station and SUST vice chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuiyan along with Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal and teachers of the architect department of the university visited the spot.

Terming the incident as suspicious, OC Suhel Ahmed said he has informed the Criminal Investigation Department on the matter.
