Girl raped, killed by ‘classmates’ in Gaibandha

A schoolgirl was raped and killed allegedly by her classmates in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha early today.

The victim’s father has filed a murder case against Rubel Mia, 15, and four others in connection with the incident, reports our Gaibandha correspondent.

Rubel Mia called the girl out of her house last night, Gobindaganj police said quoting her father. He allegedly raped her with some of his associates.

Later, they allegedly poisoned the girl with pesticide and fled. The victim was rushed to a local health complex and later she died on the way to Bogra Medical College Hospital.

Police are trying to catch the culprits, ABM Jahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station, said.
