Golam Rabbani made new HC registrar

Golam Rabbani, judge of the Nari O Shishu Nirjaton Daman Tribunal of Narsingdi, has been appointed as the registrar of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

The appointment was made by Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, who has been performing functions of the chief justice, said a gazette notification issued by the law ministry today.

Earlier on October 17, SC’s Appellate Division Registrar Md Zakir Hossain was made the acting registrar general of the apex court.

The SC authorities on October 15 transferred its 10 key officials including its Registrar General Syed Aminul Islam and the High Court Registrar Abu Syed Diljar Hossain, two days after Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha flew to Australia for treatment.

On the same day, the apex court also transferred 15 other judicial officers, ranging from the rank of the joint district judge to district judge.

The law ministry on that day issued three separate notifications to this effect, saying the transfer orders have been made public for people’s interest.
