Heist case: Court asks cops to submit report on April 19

A Dhaka court today asked police to submit a report on April 19 in a case filed over USD$101 million heist from Bangladesh Bank account with Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Mahbubur Rahman of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court fixed the date, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting Sub-Inspector Jalal Ahmed, of general register office (GRO).

The court’s order came a day into the BB filed a case over the cyber heist, accusing several unknown persons.

Zubair Bin Huda, joint director of BB's accounts and budgeting department, yesterday lodged the lawsuit with Motijheel Police Station under the Money Laundering Prevention Act and the ICT Act.
