Home ministry split into 2 divisions
The government has split home ministry into two divisions, according to a letter of Ministry of Public Administration today.
The two divisions are – Public Security Division and Security Services Division.
A total of 493 officials and employees will be working in the two divisions, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
The decision was taken to reduce the workload, according to sources.
The Public Security Division will have departments on politics and ICT, police, Ansar and border, law and order, administration, finance and development are under.
The Security Services Division will have departments on security and National Telecom Monitoring Centre, fire and narcotics, law and order, immigration, jail and coordination, administration, finance and development.
A total of 163 posts have been created in Public Security Division while 243 posts in Security Services Division.
In the letter addressed to the senior secretary of home ministry it was said that all formalities of splitting the ministry, including having permission from the finance department, have to be completed and approved by secretarial committee on administrative development and the prime minister.
Two secretaries will be in charge of the two divisions after the procedure is completed.
It has long been under discussion that the ministry would be divided, and today the decision has been finally made.
