Pass rate, GPA 5 lower this year

Total 68.91 percent students passed this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations across the country which is 5.79 percentage points lower than that of previous year.

Among them, 37,726 examinees obtained Grade Point Average (GPA)-5.
Around 10:30am, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over a copy of the results to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Gono Bhaban in Dhaka.

Total 66.84 percent students passed this year’s HSC examinations with 33,242 students obtaining GPA-5.
The pass rates in madrasa and technical boards are respectively 77.02 and 81.33 percent.
The pass rate is 69.74 percent under Dhaka education board, Comilla 49.52 percent, Jessore 70.02 percent, Chittagong 61.09 percent, 70.28 percent under Barisal education board, Sylhet 72.00 percent, 65.44 percent under Dinajpur board and 71.30 percent under Rajshahi board.
Later, the minister will formally announce the results at 1:00pm at a press briefing.
Tapan Kumar Sarker, examination controller at Dhaka Education Board, yesterday said the results will be published simultaneously from respective centres or colleges and online at 1:30pm.
Institution-based result sheet has to be downloaded through entry of EIIN of respective educational institution from www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd.
Students can also collect their results from www.educationboardresults.gov.bd, result corner of www.educationboard.gov.bd and website of respective education board.
Last year, the combined pass rate in 10 education boards, including madrasa and technical boards, was 74.70 percent, 5.1 percentage points higher than that of previous year.
