Cheers for girls!
Girls outshone boys across country in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results.
Although more boys sat for the examinations, the girls retained the top success rate fighting against all odds by a margin of 2.82 percent.
Among the successful students this year, 70.43 percent girls passed the examinations whereas the percentage of boys is 67.61, said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid while handing over the results of HSC and its equivalent examinations 2017 to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning.
A total of 6,24,675 boys and 5,38,595 girls appeared for the HSC examinations this year, he added.

Total 68.91 percent students passed the HSC and equivalent examinations across the country which is 5.79 percentage points lower than that of previous year.
Among them, 37,726 examinees obtained Grade Point Average (GPA)-5, the education minister said.
