ICT gets new registrar
The government today appointed Shahidul Alam Jhinuk, judge of Dhaka Special Court-3, as the registrar of the International Crimes Tribunal.
In consultation with the Supreme Court, a government order in this regard has been issued today, Law Secretary ASSM Zahirul Haque Dulal told The Daily Star.
Earlier, Mustafizur Rahman, a joint secretary of the law ministry, has been discharging as registrar of the ICT since August last year, when previous registrar, AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud, was transferred to Chittagong as the district and session judge.
The government formed International Crimes Tribunal in March 2010 to try the perpetrators who committed crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
