Imposter held with yaba at Cox’s Bazar airport
Security guards of the Cox's Bazaar airport today detained a man claiming to be a government official and seized around 23,400 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from him.
The detainee, Shahidur Rahman, impersonating a deputy secretary of the foreign ministry, was trying to smuggle the Yaba, our correspondent reports quoting Sadhan Kumar Mohan, manager of the airport.
Rahman was scheduled to fly around 3:55pm, Mohan said.
Following his suspicious attitudes, security guards searched a bag that kept in his possession and recovered the Yaba tablets, he added.
During primary interrogation, Rahman hailing from Noakhali, confessed that he was planning to smuggle the Yaba through the airport, Aslam Hossain, officer-in-charge of Cox's Bazar Sadar police Station, said.
Police filed a case with Cox's Bazar Police Station in this connection.
