Japanese killing: Korea alerts its citizens
The Korean Embassy in Bangladesh has asked its citizens here to exercise caution and maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times in all places following the killing of a Japanese citizen this morning.
In a notice posted at 2:40pm (Bangladesh standard time) in its official Facebook page, the embassy said: “According to local media reports, a Japanese national was shot and killed by unknown miscreants in Kawnia, Rangpur city in the morning on Oct.3 (Saturday)”.
Exercise caution and maintain a high level of personal security awareness at all times in all places, it reads.
Motorbike-riding assailants sprayed bullets on Japanese national Kunio Hoshi, 66, at Alutary village of Kaunia upazila of Rangpur this morning, five days into the killing of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella in Dhaka’s diplomatic zone.
After Tavella’s killing, the US, the UK, Canada, Switzerland and Italy issued travel alerts for their citizens in Bangladesh.
