Joint-secretary killed under train in Mymensingh
A top government official was killed under the wheels of a train at Mymensingh Railway Station this morning.
The victim Ranjit Kumar Sarker, 55, was a joint secretary, director of primary education directorate and hailing from Bakorpur village in Mohanganj, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Ranjit was traveling back to Dhaka from Netrakona after Eid vacation, our correspondent reports quoting Abdul Ahad Khan, officer-in-charge of Mymensingh Railway Police Station.
He fell under the wheels of Hower Express trying to board the train, the OC said.
Ranjit was rescued by local people and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to injuries around 12:00pm.
