Land deal: Modi phones Hasina

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and conveyed his greetings to the people of Bangladesh on this landmark occasion of passage of long pending Land Boundary Agreement in Indian parliament.

“I spoke to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and conveyed my good wishes on this landmark occasion,” MP Modi said in his twitter post.

Modi also thanked Congress party President Sonia Gandhi for helping the pass bill in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

In twitter, Modi also thanked “all the political parties for their cooperation, as also to the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura & West Bengal”.

“The Amendment passed ensures a permanent settlement of land boundary with Bangladesh & resolution of long-pending boundary issues.”
