Man held for instigating religious anarchy thru Facebook

Detectives arrested a man in Paltan area of Dhaka last night on charges of instigating people’s religious sentiment through his posts in social media platform.

The arrestee, SM Shakhawout Hossain, had been trying to create chaos between Muslim and Buddhist communities through his posts on Facebook for the last few days, said a message floated by Dhaka Metropolitan Police to the media today.

Details about the detainee could not be known immediately. 

DMP is expected to hold a press briefing later in the day to provide details on the arrest.
